A useful optical fiber RFQ names the material and the requirements needed to evaluate an offer. Include the fiber grade, total quantity in fiber-km, coating requirement, preferred reel length, intended application and delivery destination. Add the datasheet, reel list, attenuation data, quality report and packing information you need, together with any timing or format requirements. If a specification is undecided, identify the open question rather than guessing. The checklist below organizes these details and transfers your draft to the contact form for review. Identify the fiber and governing specification
Choose the grade or grades you want to discuss. Specify the exact coating requirement and reference document when known. If several grades are selected, explain whether they are separate line items or alternatives for the same application. Record different quantities per grade in the project description.
The coating choices in the checklist are requests for discussion, not a declaration that every listed grade is offered in every diameter. Confirm the actual coating option and tolerance in the supplier quotation.
State total quantity and length per reel separately
Enter the total length of individual fibers in fiber-km. Describe preferred reel length and any accepted variation separately. If the quantity is still an estimate, say so in the project requirements. A reel count without lengths is not enough to establish the requested fiber quantity.
Include the intended application and manufacturing constraints that may affect the allocation. The supplier can then confirm the offered reel arrangement rather than assuming a nominal length.
Request the documents needed for review
Select the supporting information your team needs. The applicable supplier datasheet, reel list and quality records should relate to the offered material. If a particular field, document format or approval stage is required, include that requirement in the notes.
Confirm packaging and destination details before evaluating delivery scope. Price, availability and lead time are agreed in the quotation process; submitting the checklist does not reserve stock or establish delivery terms.
Review and send your RFQ
